When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.

― Erasmus

A wonderful quote! Erasmus, a Dutch philosopher and theologian, perfectly captures the priorities of a book lover. Here's a breakdown:
- "When I have a little money, I buy books;" - Erasmus prioritizes acquiring knowledge and wisdom over material comforts.
- "and if I have any left," - implies that books come first, and if there's still money remaining...
- "I buy food and clothes." - only then does he attend to basic needs like sustenance and attire.
This quote highlights the value Erasmus places on learning, self-improvement, and the pursuit of knowledge. It's a relatable sentiment for book lovers and a testament to the enduring power of reading and education!

Clint Eastwood, 94-year-old vegan actor legend, formulated one of the most important lessons of his life so far for the young generation: "Don't look for luxury in watches or bracelets; don't look for luxury in villas or sailboats!
Luxury is laughter and friends; luxury is rain on your face; luxury is hugs and kisses.
Don't look for luxury in shops; don't look for it in gifts; don't look for it at parties; don't look for it at events!
Luxury is being loved by people, luxury is being respected, luxury is having your parents alive, and luxury is being able to play with your grandchildren. Luxury is what money can't buy.

Meditation
The more you meditate, the more helpful you can be to others, and the more deeply you will be in tune with God. Selfish people remain spiritually hidebound, but the unselfish expand their consciousness. When you find your omnipresence in meditation, you will find God. If He is pleased with you, all nature will work in harmony with you. Learn to talk to Him with all your soul.
Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, Yogoda Satsanga Lessons
There is nothing to be proud of in money. If you say that you are rich, there are richer and richer men than you, in comparison with whom you are a mere beggar. After dusk, when the glow-worms make their appearance, they think: “We are giving light to the world”. But when the stars rise, their pride is gone. Then the stars begin to think: “We are shedding light on the universe”. After some time the moon ascends the sky, and the stars are humiliated and look melancholy. So again the moon begins to be proud and think that by her light the world is lighted, and smiles and bathes in beauty and cheerfulness. But lo! The dawn proclaims the advent of the rising sun on the eastern horizon. Where is the moon now? If they, who think themselves rich, ponder over these natural facts, they will never, never boast of their riches again.
